Introducing Sustainable Paper Packaging for our Automotive Bulb Range
Ring is continuing its commitment to reducing its environmental impact with the introduction of new paper-based packaging across its retail automotive bulb range.
Replacing the previous plastic blister packs, the new hanging carton design offers a more sustainable alternative while maintaining the durability and protection customers expect. Although the bulbs are no longer visible through the packaging, clear product imagery and information make it easy to identify the correct bulb at a glance.
The packaging update will be introduced as a rolling change, with the new cartons replacing existing blister packs as current stock is depleted. More than 60 products in the range will transition to the new design, providing around 95% vehicle coverage, while Ring continues to offer comprehensive car parc coverage across its full bulb portfolio.
Henry Bisson, Marketing Director at Ring, said:
"We all know how important reducing our carbon footprint is and, across the business, we're continually looking for ways to become more environmentally conscious. Our new paper-based packaging is another important step in that journey.
This sustainable packaging is already used across several of our product ranges, including battery care and tyre care. Bringing our automotive bulbs into the same packaging style creates a more environmentally friendly and consistent range.
As well as reducing our environmental impact, the new packaging delivers stronger brand presence on the shelf, helping customers identify Ring products more easily.
While this won't happen overnight, as existing stock is replaced, we expect our sustainable packaging to become the standard across retailers over the coming months."
The move forms part of Ring's wider sustainability strategy, which focuses on reducing plastic usage, improving packaging materials and creating a more environmentally responsible product portfolio without compromising quality or performance.
Customers may begin to see both packaging styles during the transition period, with the change taking place gradually as stock cycles through retailers. Regardless of the packaging, the products inside remain unchanged and continue to deliver the same trusted quality and performance Ring is known for.
