Top Technician 2017 Final Approaches

The final of the Top Technician competition is approaching, with the five finalists set to battle it out for the title on 13th July 2017. This year’s finalists qualified at the semi-final round in Bournemouth, which saw the top five competitors earn their place. Competing for the title are:
Shaun Miller Miller’s Garage, Berkshire
Karl Weaver Bull Lane Garage, Kent
Kevin Toms FRL Autoservices, Devon
Richard Lukins Fiorano Cars, London
Neil Currie Robertson Gemini, Dumfries & Galloway

Ring sponsors the event, which challenges mechanics and technicians across the UK to take part in a series of technical tasks to see who has the highest level of skill and can be named the Top Technician. The final will feature a series of timed tasks to see how well the competitors cope with complicated problems under pressure. Last year, the finalists had just 50 minutes to diagnose and explain the faults on a range of cars, including diesel, petrol and hybrid engines.

The overall winner will be announced at Top Technician Live on Saturday 16th September at the Henry Ford Academy in Daventry. The event is open to workshop owners and technicians, who will be able to attend a full day of technical and business advice, including an exclusive Ford technical seminar, and get the opportunity to network with technicians from across the UK.
